Does your home reflect Christ?

Our homes are many things:  Fun, messy, chaotic, calm, inviting and beautiful.

But do they reflect our Savior?

Christ is our refuge, our cornerstone, our strong tower.

As homemakers, wives and mothers we are to make our homes a place for our families, guests and yes, even ourselves a place to find peace, love and most importantly, a glimpse of our Savior.

Titus 2:3-5 instructs us to:
"teach what is good,  and so train the young women to love their husbands and children,  to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled." (ESV)

The phrase ''working at home'' in many translations is "keepers at home" and directly translated from the Greek (oikouros) means to "guard our dwelling".

So, what does that mean?  Be aware of what is going on in your home.  All activities should be known and if they aren't honoring to Christ they should be eliminated.

This also means to be aware of the atmosphere or the general feeling of your home.  Does it feel welcoming?  Calm?  What do you want it to 'feel' like when you, your family and guests are there?

Please join me in praying that our homes would be a true reflection of our Savior.  If you know your home isn't currently in that state (and none of ours are!), ask God what you need to do in order to serve your family and friends with place they can come to see and experience Christ.
